Terms of Service

Last updated · June 28, 2026

The short version

These terms are the agreement between you and Star in Your Car ("we", "us", "our", "the app"). They cover who can use the app, the rules for using it, what happens to the videos you submit, and the usual legal protections. Please read them — by creating an account or using Star in Your Car, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

1. Who can use Star in Your Car

You must be 18 years or older to create an account or use the app. By using Star in Your Car you confirm that you are at least 18 and that you can form a binding contract with us. The app is not directed at, and may not be used by, anyone under 18.

2. Your account

3. Acceptable use

When you use Star in Your Car, you agree not to:

Record responsibly — never operate the app while driving. Star in Your Car is for use when your vehicle is safely parked.

4. Your content and the rights you grant us

You keep ownership of your performances. The videos, comments, and other content you submit remain yours.

By submitting content, you grant Star in Your Car a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, transmit, adapt (for formatting and delivery), and otherwise use that content for the purpose of operating, providing, and promoting the platform — including showing your performances to voters and industry judges, and featuring them in the app and in our marketing where applicable. This license lasts as long as your content is on the platform and for a reasonable period afterward to allow for backups and removal.

You represent and warrant that:

You can remove your content by deleting the submission or your account. We may remove or refuse content that we reasonably believe breaks these terms or exposes us or our users to risk.

5. Ratings, votes, and challenges

Star in Your Car lets industry judges and the public rate and vote on performances, and lets industry judges post challenges. Ratings, votes, and comments are opinions of the people who give them — they are not endorsements by us, and we don't guarantee that any submission will receive feedback, votes, or a particular outcome. Be respectful in any feedback you give.

6. Contests and prizes

From time to time we may run challenges or contests, which may offer prizes. Any such contest may have its own additional rules covering eligibility, judging, and prizes, and those rules will apply alongside these terms. We may withhold a prize or disqualify an entry if we reasonably believe a participant has breached these terms or any contest rules.

7. Advertising and the service being free

Star in Your Car is free to use and may be supported by advertising and sponsorship. How we handle data for advertising — and how you can limit personalized ads — is described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Our intellectual property

The app, our name, logo, design, and software are owned by Star in Your Car and protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms don't give you any right to use our branding or software except as needed to use the app normally.

9. Third-party services and links

The app relies on third-party services (for example, app stores, hosting, and advertising partners) and may link to third-party sites we don't control. We're not responsible for the content, practices, or terms of those third parties. Your use of the app may also be subject to the terms of the app store you downloaded it from.

10. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Star in Your Car and delete your account at any time from Me → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if we're required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including content licenses already granted, disclaimers, and limitations of liability — will continue to apply.

11. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any content or feedback will meet your expectations. No security measures are perfect or impenetrable.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Star in Your Car will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or USD $100.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Star in Your Car harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the app, or your breach of these terms or of anyone else's rights.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Star in Your Car operates, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be handled in the courts located there, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
